Benefits of membership are endless. Free Spirit Chapter is a very active, RIDING Chapter.  In 2003, we were represented on almost 90 rides, both in and out of Michigan.  While we meet at Motor City Power Sports in Bloomfield Hills, our membership spans approximately 100 miles.  After all, why did you buy that motorcycle if you don't want to ride it?

Regular meetings are the 3rd Saturday of each month
April - October at 10:00 am
November - March at 12:00 noon
Motor City Power Sports

Free Spirit Chapter has a very busy calendar during the short Michigan riding season.  While we have no minimum ride/meeting requirements, as women, we do have certain priorities and Free Spirit tries to accommodate that.  By planning a lot of rides/activities, there is always something of interest for everyone.  Chapter rides are all planned by our members.  "If you plan it, they will come" seems to work very well.  During 2004, we went to Rolling Thunder in Washington DC, MAWMR in Gettysburg, the WOW Ride-In in West Virginia, and a fundraiser ride for one of our favorites, Accident Scene Management in Wisconsin (click on the Women in Motion Icon for details about that ride).  We also stayed in-state for a "Mitten Run" and a weekend in East Jordan supporting Lady Biker Day (That's one of our members in front showing off her "Best of Show" bike") which benefits Camp Quality, a camp for Children who suffer from Cancer. Some of us even took it upon ourselves to RIDE to Sturgis this year.

If long, out of state runs are not for you and you prefer to scoot around town, we do that too.  Our Ice Cream Ride Coordinator (how many motorcycle groups can claim an official Ice Cream Ride Coordinator?) plans one Ice Cream Run per month, usually during the week.  Dinner Runs are once a month, all year long, at different members favorite restaurants.  Get there by bike, car, whatever, just show up and enjoy good food and good company.  Chapter rides have included Cider Mills, supporting other Charity Rides, a Chapter Mystery Road Rally, and scooting around Hines Park.  Chapter membership gives you access to our "MEMBERS ONLY" website which allows you to find someone who lives nearby for an impromptu ride whenever the mood strikes.

In 2004, we teamed up with Rec Leisure and co-sponsored our first annual Mystery Road Rally, open to the public, benefiting the Children's Hospital Burn Center.  It worked well enough that we are already planning the next one(s).
