LAURA, "Hopper" - Lead Road Captain
Welcome! If you got this far, I’m sure you’ve been
poking around the site a bit. ENJOY!!! I grew up on dirt bikes and horses, but
set aside that freedom and sense of flying for many years. In 1997, my hubby was
itchin’ for a sportbike, as he had not ridden for as many years as I. He found
himself a 750 Nighthawk and the dealer pretty much threw in the 250 Virago for
the wife to seal the deal.
After riding the back country roads with our 2 small
girls for five or so years I was more than ready to bust it loose cross country.
In the fall of 2002 I found the Free Spirit Chapter the same way you did, on the
net. I knew I had found a home and by the spring of 2003 the Virago was ready to
break in a new rider on the west side of the state. The empty spot in the garage
was soon filled with Studman, a 2003 Moto Guzzi 1100 Stone Chrome Metal. In two
seasons we’ve eatin’ up 17,000 miles of road and slayed a deer together. I love
the late 60’s retro look of my baby with the old style frame and exhaust on both
sides, but really enjoy his get up and go when I goose the throttle. And of
course, will never live without a chrome tank
